This Case Report examines an uncommon mechanism of a work-related injury that just

reminds us, “things are not always as they seem.” The astute QME must keep an open

mind when examining an Individual for a Permanent Impairment and, must consider all of the

diagnostic possibilities before providing an opinion. Remember the most obvious

conclusion is not always the accurate conclusion.
